Aloha from Maui! I'm Robert and I'm delighted to start sharing my farm-to-table experiences on this bountiful island. I moved here from Seattle in search of a slower lifestyle connected to the land and sea.

I’ve been overwhelmed by Maui's natural abundance, from the rich soil nurturing sweet mangos and farm fresh foods to the teeming reefs that supply amazing fish. The focus on fresh, local ingredients and fermentation traditions here inspires me.

In my blog, I’ll share tips on visiting Maui's wonderful farmers markets and More. I’ll review the island's best farm-to-fork restaurants and provide recipes for making your own kimchi, kombucha, and other fermented staples at home. I’ll also cover my attempts at growing Hawaiian superfoods like Natto and SauerKraut and more.

Whether you’re a fellow fermentation fanatic or just love lush, organic tropical cuisine, I hope my blog steeps you in the sights, smells, tastes and traditions of humble island life.
